IN THIS LESSON
Meal prep doesn’t need to take hours or feel like it's eating up your entire day. If you’re a busy girl the goal isn’t perfection – the goal is to make your week easier.
Here’s how to start prepping smarter, faster, and in a way that will actually stick.
Does meal prep feel like an all-day event?! Well I’m here to tell you it doesn’t need to.
Reframe Your Thinking:
Meal prep isn’t about cooking everything got the week. It’s about removing friction from the busiest parts of your day
How Meal Prep Helps & Why I Consider It A Game Changer:
You make few last minute food decisions
You’re less likely to skip meals and order out
Your week feels more structured
You save time during your week
Barriers You’ve Created:
Let’s be honest – most people don’t hate meal prep, they hate the process of making it.
Thinking you need every meal and snack prepped
Trying to cook to many different recipes
Waiting for the perfect time to do it
Thinking it’s gonna take hours
Lets Build a Habit:
Step 1: Pick 1 Meal:
Start off small. Try prepping your lunches.
Pick a protein, carb, and a veggie. If you don’t know what to pick here are a few suggestions
Protein: chicken, sausage, or ground beef
Carb: rice or pasta
Veggie: broccoli, or peppers & onions’
Step 2: Use the 30 Minute Rule:
If it takes longer than 30-45 minutes find ways to simplify it
Sheet pan meals
One-pot meals
Air fryer recipes
Your meal prep should fit into your schedule, not take it over.
Step 3: Prep Components, Not Meals:
Instead of 5 identical containers, try …
Cooked protein
Cooked card
Prepped toppings
This will allow you to mix and match meals throughout the week. It will reduce food burn out, and feeling like you need to cook all different kinds of meals.
Step 4: Pair It With Something You Already Do:
Don’t create a whole new routine, instead just meal prep while you do another task that’s already in your routine.
Meal Prep While …
You do your laundry
You watch your show
Make it a part of your life, not a separate task you are dreading.
You don’t need to spend all day in the kitchen in order to feel prepared for the week. Start small and keep it simple.
